Andy Hopkins

Andy is a Guitar virtuoso and multi instrumentalist trained at the guildhall school of music. He has made his living as a session guitar player, working with The Idjut Boys, Faze Action, Groove Armada, Dido, Zero Seven and Anita Wardell amongst others.

He has also played in world music band Oojami, and was a pop star in turkey for a couple of years. During this time he gained a deep understanding of arabic and oriental music, learning to play several arabic instruments.

As a media composer he has written music for BBC1, World Service, Radio 4, Setanta, Discovery, Sky, Orange, Oxo, and Pampers, to name but a few.

As a recording artist he has released house singles with London Rock and Ragbull records.

Andy plays guitar, mandolin, ukelele, saxophone, keyboards, flute, darbuka, rik, double bass, drums, dan tranh (a Vietnamese version of the chinese zither) and mixes all the real instruments up with cutting edge sound design using packages such as Supercollider (a computer language for creating other worldly sounds) with a healthy slice of analog synths.
