Johnny Johnston

Godfather of the iconic jingle that reigned supreme in the 60's and 70's. Johnny composed some of the most famous and memorable jingles in the history of advertising, including The Milky Bar Kid, Beans Means Heinz, Mild Green Fairy Liquid, Captain Birdseye, Everyone's A Fruit And Nutcase, Opal Fruits , Quality Street and many many more that we all sing to each other when we're taking a trip down TV memory lane. His jingle for Shell Oil (Keep going well, keep going Shell. You can be sure of Shell) was sung by Bing Crosby and later re-recorded by Sammy Davis Jr.

As well as these British classics, Johnny recorded hundreds of instrumental works with his band The Keynotes, along with sound design worthy of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, that have over time, become retro classics perfect for TV.
